Har Zion Melodies

It is said that music is the international language of the soul.

The great 20th century Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel wrote, "...music is a vessel that may hold anything."1 For Reform Jews, music holds our prayers, lifting them from the soul of the individual to create communal bonds and magnificently reach the Divine. This collective expression strengthens the bonds between worshippers and reinforces the shared purpose of the gathering. As Reform Jews grow and change, so will the music of our synagogue, balancing authenticity with innovation and incorporating the collective past as we create our future.

We are proud to share the current melodies of our congregation to help familiarize you with this very important aspect of our services.

To quote Cantor Littman, "Music, no matter how we may hear it, can instill a feeling of serenity and harmony – an environment in which all things become possible!"
